May 3rd – birthday gratitude entry:
She walked into my office two years ago. Have you ever just fallen into someone’s eyes? A “nestea-plunge” into the depths of Some Kind of Wonderful… and don’t get me started on her hair which is nearly white with fun, loose curls. That much beauty all wrapped up in one being. Hmmmm, hardly seems fair.
Kelly Stewart Whitver’s path criss-crossed mine and life has never been the same. She started out as a client: “I could use some fitness training and nutrition advice.” Oh, if either of us could have known the belly-laughs, texts, soul-searching convos, and genuine friendship that would unpack between us. Glory!
Were you aware that it is possible to have a complete conversation using only GIFs? And that Bitmojis are a perfectly acceptable mode of communication? Kelly and I are living proof that one need never actually use the phone to audio-call… (does anyone do that anymore?)
She walks into a room and the vibe immediately lifts! Honest to goodness, that woman is the incarnation of Joy-and-Throw-Some-Fucking-Happiness-In-There-While-You’re-At-It. Lighthearted, goofball humor oozes out of her being. I don’t think I’ve ever laughed so much with one person. Ever.
And yet, the convos between us – my golly, have we plumbed the depths. Whew! Both of us Empaths (highly sensitive feelers), we remain curious about the “goo” that sticks us all together as One. What do you call It? God? Spirit? Source? Love? I include a GIF in the comments below that she and I think is absolutely perfect for what we refer to as “us three” – her, me, and Spirit — we’ve decided she’s Elaine, I’m Jerry, and Spirit is George… told ya, we’re a hoot together!
I cannot gab on about Kelly without also mentioning her three main squeezes: husband Rich (whom she adores with all her everything!), and sons Steward and Ethan (big ditto on the adoration thang!) As much as she’s shared stories about them, I feel like I know them.
FYI chocolate chip cookies are her fave. Popcorn is a close second. (It’s like we’re twinsies!)
One last gush: I remember the morning she drove all the way from Cassadaga to Fredonia (her house to mine) because I told her I wasn’t feeling well… she put together a care package and promised to check in later, see how I was doing. I mean, who does that?! Friends. Friends that are Tribe.
This is her song. It’s perfect. SHOWER THE PEOPLE YOU LOVE WITH LOVE, SHOW THEM THE WAY YOU FEEL…
Kelly Stewart Whitver, I love you.
You. Complete. Me.
Much love & hope,
