Today’s Daily Word (YouTube link here) is a doozie. I’m not sure there’s anything that threatens the ego more than kindness. Kindness says, “I am kind because kindness is who I am… not because someone deserves it, has earned it, or because it’s the right thing to do… I am kind because who I am is Kindness-In-Skin.”
It sounds good, doesn’t it, to do acts of kindness… but if those actions are rooted in a “I’ll be the bigger person here” or “this is the right thing to do,” then they will not last. Only Love lasts.
Yes. Only Love lasts.
And here’s the real truth, like it or not: “walk long enough and we all trade places.” (Mark Nepo) We are ALL in need of kindness, mercy, grace, consideration. Love. All of us.
So, in a world where you can be anything… be kind.
